Fundraising for The Prince's Trust
Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This is an opportunity to make a personal challenge worthwhile - please support me, Pauline Crawford to raise as much as possible to help young people to succeed in their lives with The Princes Trust’s help.
The Princes Trust Challenge was to walk to the top of Mt Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco - and it was the toughest three days walking of my life. At the end of Day one, I really thought I wouldn't make it as the heat and altitude had got to me after 8 hours walking slowly up the valley. Day two I woke up (in our tiny two person tent!) determined to do the ascent which was staggeringly steep!
I set off and slowly climbed across steep paths covered in loose stones, over snow lines and across sheer ledges. It took 6 hours to get to the top where you see me here! It took 5 hours to return because it was so slippery. We left at 6am and returned to our camp at 6pm! The next day we still had 6 hours walk down the valley home...
I am so proud to tell you I made it - the weather was stunning, the comradeship magnificent and the loving supportive energy between us helped us on our way ..and so far we've raised over £50,000 for The Princes Trust and more to come in.....
The sponsorship is still open until July 5th and I am ever grateful for everyone's support ..it kept me going when I wanted to turn back .. that is a powerful lesson in our lives, that friendship and support are always there if you open your heart to receive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
