Story
Hi folks !!!!!
Just to let you all know I have now completed the 10 mile Glasgow Night Hike in aid of Maggie's Cancer Care Centres (Friday 22nd of July).
It was no piece of cake but all round it wasn't a particularly treacherous route either.........the weather was perfect to MAJOR BONUS !!!!.I completed it in 3 hours and 20 minutes and came 103rd of 360 participants.I was really surprised given that it was my first time to even get to the finish. However with the support from other participants and of course the Maggie's staff and volunteers cheering us on it made it a lot easier.
Even though the walk is now done I would still like to meet my £100 target.A big thanks to those who have sponsored me so far.....every little helps just like Tesco say haha.I would at this point like to also give a list of the people who inspired my participation in this event:
Irene Beattie(Mums Aunt) and Brenda Neos (Friend) who are both currently receiving treatment for cancer.
Liz Hamilton (Aunt) and Cheryl Catalano (Friend) who have beaten cancer.
Tommy Kelly (Papa),Wullie Beattie (Mums Uncle),Lilian McGrane (Mums Aunt),LaVonne Fuller (Friend) and Emma Kirson (Young girl at same school) who all had long battles with cancer but have sadly passed away.
All the men, women and children who have suffered from cancer in its various forms.
Maggie's Cancer Care Centres give support and advice to cancer patients and their families.I think you'll agree that it's extremely important that we have support networks like these in place.
Any money donated on this page goes directly to the charity and all your details are completely secure and are not displayed anywhere.
Thanks for your time and sponsorship !!!
Pauline :)
