Story
For the 2nd year running I will be raising money for Epilepsy Society by running the London Marathon on April 22. Last year’s fundraising and the Marathon itself was a great success but as always I will be aiming to improve on previous results. I will be aiming to raise £1000 so every donation is greatly appreciated!
This charity means a lot to me because my cousin Emma (Caroline's daughter) suffers from this condition and it makes her life very difficult and stressful, not only for her but much of her family.
There needs to be far more awareness of Epilepsy in the UK and more specialist centres for people with this condition. Emma's nearest centre, when she was undergoing medical care and supervision last year, was in Chalfont St Peter, over 100 miles from her home in Woodbridge near Ipswich. In September 2010, rather than the boredom and cost of trains in and out of London each time Emma's family wanted to see her, we decided to cycle the route instead to raise money and awareness for Epilepsy Society. Although it was very long and painful it was a memorable journey. We originally set our target at £500 and were amazed with the final total of £3000.
Now, We are calling on you again for your generosity to help this cause. Whatever sum of money you can donate, be it £1 or £100, will be greatly appreciated.
A little bit about me, if you were wondering! This will be my 9th consecutive London Marathon and I've raised on average over £1000 every year since my first marathon in 2004. I'm aiming to raise at least £1000 this year and Epilepsy Society will be the 3rd different charity i will have raised money for.
