MY 2009 ACORNS CHALLENGE

This year I had a very good personal reason for supporting the Acorn's Children's Hospice. My intention was to run only the Flora London Marathon in April, but it was very soon apparent that everyone was holding on to their money due to the effects of the economic climate, and for that reason and the fact that I hit a milestone birthday in May I decided to 'push the boat out' and do a just a bit more.
So apart from the London Marathon, I have also completed:- A Skydive. A Triathlon. The Silverstone half marathon. The Birmingham and Black Country half marathon and a 110 foot abseil from the top of Fort Dunlop in Birmingham. On 11th October I finished the Birmingham half Marathon in a personal best time of 1hour 57. I then completed the New York Marathon on November 1st in a personal best time of 4:42.
Finally, and joined by Dave Turnell my work colleague and an enthusiastic newcomer to running we did the Acorns Santa Run in Birmingham on December 5th. Well done Dave! I know you had a great day out with your family.
I am hoping that my commitment to these challenges will convince you to sponsor me. Please do! I do not think I could do much more. Your contribution could help make a significant difference to someone's life.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Acorns Children's Hospice Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
Finally, could I ask that when you do make a donation you then tell two or more friends or colleagues about my work in the hope they will also be supporters. It takes £450 per day to care for one child. Thank you. Paul Cole
