Story
To begin with our Target may sound like crazy but everyone who knows me knows I will not give up till I succeed my targets and dreams!!!
Although I am raising the money for Macmillan and I am also doing what I can to raise additional money for the charity via my businesses. I want to try and make a difference in everyone’s lives. If more people work with us to raise this money. We will hopefully make a difference for our legacy's as cancer rates are now 1-2 and our aim is to work with Macmillan and put pressure on the government to look at what we have in our food system as a possible causation of what could be the reasons why cancer rates are so high. You never know in ten years we maybe able to get the rates back to 1-3 😀
We have far too much GM Food, Process foods as well as plastic molecules within our food and this is just to name a few.
Below is my target to raise the million over the next few years
To raise this money we have planned:
1) Three UWCB Matches First event 17/12/23, Second event 24/03/24, third event 21/07/24
2) Four further UWCB Matches which we would like to end with an MMA
3) Three Cycle rides which will be approx 56, 80 and 100 miles in distance
4) Two Running events which will be a 10k and Half Marathon
5) Jump out of a plane and sky dive
6) An Ultra Adventure trekking event - Mount Kilimanjaro or Machu Picchu
7) Releasing the first of many Children's Book in 2024
8) Organising our own Charity Boxing Match in 2025/26
For me raising money for Macmillan it is critical at this moment in time, especially as thousands of lives are being put at risk due to long waiting on the NHS for cancer tests and treatments.
As a nation we are seeing such a stretch on not only our NHS system but our social system. So for me this is just my first step to not just raise an amazing amount to help people living with cancer, their loved ones, and those that work with them but to also raise additional awareness that at present all though our government may not fully admit that the country is struggling, in-fact for me I see it as a broken system and serious changes need to be made!
For me since COVID we have seen a massive failure which has not only affected myself in major ways but practically anyone I know!
So I asked myself how can I make a difference and for me the answer is very simple we need to stand together as 'We are Stronger Together' and I always say to my family, friends and working colleagues please 'Believe In Me' as I am going to 'try, try and try again until I succeed in making a difference in so many peoples lives!!!
We all face life challenges and have been affected by trauma of many types and Cancer has affected all of us in one way or another so as a person who personally has already lost so many friends, family members including at a young age losing my Grandfather George Charlton WW2 Royal Merchant Navy Gunner who died from cancer which was rumored to be caused by the hazardous affects from the Anti-aircraft artillery. Losing an old school friend Graeme Green at 29 years of age and many others. I also have many friends who are currently fighting cancer, my uncle has Leukemia and my father Colin Carter has a rare form of blood cancer.
To support Macmillan I have decided to go on a massive charity crusade which started in October 2023 and we hope to complete by the end of 2027 being sponsored by the company I own and run Sparkle and Shine Valeting and Detailing Ltd
As a business owner I am already known as a person who set up his family business not only to help support the community, raise and support local charities, sponsor young talented individuals where possible to fund their sporting events, but employee and support individuals who sometimes find it more difficult to obtain and maintain jobs in the workplace.
I have already started training although this has been extremely difficult and painful as for myself I have been failed by the current NHS system and I have been waiting approximately nine months for surgery to correct a hernia.
I am delighted that I am not only being supported by my family my friends, friends of friends, the local community but my customer base who many are well known celebrities.
It just shows me if everyone can stand together the world can certainly become a better place.
