Around 90,000 people are serving prison sentences in the UK. For many it's the lowest point in their lives. They need hope, meaning, purpose and a way to change their futures.
I've been going into prisons, for nearly 6 years, working with some of the worst prisoners (most violent, prolific offenders, causing the most problems inside and outside of prison) - and I'm seeing God transform their hearts, minds, behaviours and their futures and their communities (inside and outside
prison).
Around 100 prisoners leave my prison each week, many are leaving homeless, with little or no real help or support to change their lives on the outside. But, I also work with lads on release from prison. I meet and chat with them regularly to help with life on the outside. I help them resettle back into community and to develop good links and relationships (inc. helping feed into: supported accommodation; rehab support; churches; supportive communities; college, training and employment). Many of my lads are now living independently, in work, settled in church and have built good relationships with family and new friends.
But, we have to raise funds to keep this ministry going… So, Next week, we'll be sleeping out in an Industrial Estate in Manchester with little for protection. Please show us your support by sponsoring us through The Message Support page:
