Story

Dear Stanley, Daddy’s Bestest Boy

I miss you

I miss waking up next to you, playing on the swings, picking you up from nursery, your giggling and our singing at bath time, and holding you in my arms as you fall asleep at night.

I miss you every second of every day.

Everyday I cry, I long to be with you so much. There’s one thing that keeps me going; you ran everywhere and therefore so do I now, in your honour. I’ve entered a running race, the Milton Keynes Marathon to be precise. I’m going to run 26.2 miles for you.

As I train and increase my mileage, it hurts incredibly, the physical pain and mental anguish are almost too much to bear, but it’s what keeps me close to you. When it gets tough I simply think of you, your gorgeous smile, and I run on further. You inspire me.

Your Mummy and I don’t want other little ones and their families to be hurting through this awful and hideous disease so we’re raising funds to research into greater knowledge and kinder treatments to one day beat Neuroblastoma. We do it in your memory and in your name.

We’re best friends and I know you’ll be cheering me on.

Stanley George Apple, you are my Hero!

All my love in the world forever and always

Daddy xxx
