Story
As many of you know, we very suddenly and unexpectedly lost our lovely dad on 19 April this year - his birthday. It was likely from sudden heart failure as he was otherwise in good health. Like most of us, he was far too busy living to worry about dying.
Alongside his work at AECOM, looking after us and Cora (his beloved pup!), he was studying for his masters in Coaching and Mentoring at Oxford Brookes. He was deeply invested in colleagues’ and friends’ mental health and well-being both at work and outside of work. As a dad he would consistently ask how we were feeling about certain things and encouraged us to explore why these feelings occurred and what we could do in response to them. Many of his friends have since told us how much they valued his listening and attentive ear. Many have said already how rare a quality this is particularly, and sadly, in men.
In his memory, we would like to encourage donations to the Mental Health Foundation. We know he would be supportive of the work the Foundation do around proactively caring for and protecting our mental health and well-being and encouraging families and individuals to engage with community. Issie, Rosie and H are running the London Marathon on Sunday 2nd October this year for the MHF.
Thank you to everyone who loved him and continues to love us. We miss him immeasurably already.
