Story

EDIT: Due to Covid-19, this event has been rescheduled to 26th June 2021. We are incredibly grateful for all the donations we have already received and really want to get to our £1000 target to help support this fantastic charity.

Mark: Last year marked the tenth anniversary of my meduloblastoma diagnosis, a form of cancer of the brain. After surgery at St George's hospital and gruelling radiotherapy treatment at the Royal Marden, it is with enormous gratitude that I, together with my best friend Paul, am able to thank the Marsden by raising funds for both future research and care for those affected by cancer.

Paul: 10 years ago, my best friend was diagnosed with a significant brain tumour. After 10 hours of brain surgery and numerous bouts of radiotherapy, Mark was told that he was in remission. This year is 10 years of remission and we wanted to give something back to the Royal Marsden without whose incredible work, my best friend would likely not be here today.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
