DoItForCharity 5k London Run 2009 · 10 May 2009 ·

Gingerbread Corner was set up in 1976 to provide high quality, affordable childcare for single parents of children during school holidays and after school. Now, Gingerbread Corner has grown into a flagship Child Care Centre, providing childcare for children between the ages of 0-11.

Story

Over the last 3 years we have raised £2.7m and started to build the fantastic New Gingerbread Corner. We are coming to the end of the 52 week build and hope to move into the new building (shown in the picture) in July/August.

However, we still need to raise funds to equip the place; we need to fit out the romp room and sensory room, to build a multi purpose play court and to buy more computers for the IT suite.

So, 'Team Playcare' (who have worked at Gingerbread Corner for a combined 92 years!) are doing this 5K run. Please dig deep, those of you who have been on any long walk with me will know that for me a 5K run is the equivalent of a marathon for many other people. My target is ONLY £250 but I am more than happy exceed that!
