Story
Running 13 miles under lockdown conditions is going to be tough for a 1st floor flat city dweller. It will mean at least half of the distance has to be spent running in circles round the communal courtyard to keep within the 1 hour of dedicated exercise time outside the home.
I have my good friends of Shauna and Owain attempting it with me. We start at 7:30am in our homes and go as long as it takes to complete 13 miles.
I will be carrying my own water and snacks to comply with social distancing as I run my laps ...and some kick ass tunes to keep me going.
I know money is tight but if you could spare a few quid for Venture Trust, they do amazing work, work that I don't have the skills for and thats why I'm the one running. That one I can (just about) do
From Venture Trust .....
For people already in a difficult place and getting support to turn their lives around, this pandemic together with lockdown and isolation from family, friends and support services could knock them off track. Half of our clients worry that they face damaging social isolation. Lockdown is vital for reducing the spread of infection, keeping us safe and avoiding overwhelming the NHS - its the right thing to do.
But for people already facing personal challenges or suffering from the effects of poverty and inequality, lockdown means new problems to address. In response we turned our services outside in, moving from group-based personal development in Scotlands wilderness and community greenspaces to working with smart technology to reach those needing help most in their own homes. Our new support service is online, with all outreach and development staff providing tailored support by phone, video link or other digital means. Your donation helps keep people connected at this time.
