My #TeamTSA London Marathon 2020 Page

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Running the London marathon has always been a dream of mine and I've entered every year for a ballot place and I always said I wouldn't run for a charity because the amount you have to raise is so high. Maybe that is because my reason to raise that amount was never big enough. Well that all changed a few months ago.....
We lost my beautiful friend Vanessa Platts to cancer at the young age of 40. Vanessa left behind a beautiful daughter Amelia and she suffers with this condition every day, it is rare and not many people know about this condition but Amelia needs the help, support and research that the TSA provide and I know they've been amazing with Vanessa, Dave and Amelia.
Amelia goes to hospital on average every week. Some weeks they will have 4 appointments, some weeks 1, others none. Depends how it falls.
Amelia has to take medication every day for the rest of her life.
TS causes her and most people to have tumours on most of her major organs including her eyes, heart, kidneys and lungs but most importantly her brain. The ones on her brain cause her to have developmental delay, autism, anxiety issues, speech problems and epilepsy.
She has 4 different types of seizures and has them every day.
She also has something called a SEGA tumour on her brain and if this grows to large could be life threatening if not treated. Amelia has to have 2 MRIs per year as well as ECG's and EEG's and her heart monitored on a regular basis.
So help me to help them by donating any amount you can please?
Thanks for your support with my London Marathon JustGiving challenge! My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. The Tuberous Sclerosis Association (TSA) is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting people affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). TSC is a genetic condition that can lead to growths in various organs of the body, but those most commonly affected are the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. When they cause problems it is mainly because of their size and where they are in the body.By supporting me with a vital donation you can be a part of the TSAs life-changing work....
