Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm a great fan of waddling fabulous events such as the GNR, and its been a fantastic way to raise money for charities that have been meaningful to me and those close to me; so in the past it has been Cash for Kids and Breast Cancer -  but this year is seriously meaningful to me and those close to me.

A cousin of mine died suddenly last year and his family are showing incredible strength by organising an event night in memory of him - called  "Remembering Colm". So I feel hugely privileged to both Remember Colm and support his family who, through this event, have chosen to raise funds for PIPS Newry & Mourne - Public Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide and Self-Harm.

In spite of limited financial resources, PIPS have managed to create a one stop shop for anyone within the community that is experiencing emotional or mental distress however PIPS receives little public funding - it depends on voluntary donations and this is why they need our help.

Please sponsor me if you are interested in sponsoring this life-saving work:

  • £350- pays for a safeTALK suicide alertness workshop for up to 30 people.
  • £800- pays for an ASIST suicide intervention skills course for 20 people.

This fundraising is for the PIPS group chosen by Colm's family, but if you would rather support a group local to your own community that would be of course welcomed - if I could  ask you to sponsor me a penny with a message of the group you make a private donation to, and if you are unable to donate financially then please look up your local group and see how you can support them in other ways but most of all read their message and share it with others to help spread awareness.

Thank you for reading this and for your support and understanding oxo
