Story
Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales is a registered charity that depends on donations and the fundraising efforts of friends and supporters to enable them to see every child with cerebral palsy who needs us. Children from every part of Wales come to the centre for specialist therapy. By helping Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales, you can make a real and positive difference to children in Wales who have cerebral palsy.
One of these children is my son Evan who is two years old. He is an intelligent and happy little boy, but Cerebral Palsy means he cannot walk unaided. It is likely his gross motor skills will be severely delayed and he will require therapy throughout his life. Unfortunately NHS resources are limited, but he has been lucky enough to gain a block of therapy at Bobath. We hope the intense individually tailored therapy provided by Bobath will help Evan achieve his full potential, but after this year he is unlikely to gain funded therapy sessions and will have to rely on charitable donations. To provide all the necessary therapy for children referred to the centre and keep the centre running requires £800,000 per year. An individual therapy block costs £4,400. I am starting small, but every penny helps Evan and other children achieve their full potential.
