Story

It's called the long goodbye, as many people are aware. To watch your loved ones battle this illness is hard for all involved.  We are experiencing this first hand with our Nan - daily changes in character, personality and her confusion, which she finds frightening, is why we are attempting this walk - she still is her funny, lovable, feisty, 96 year old, fiercely independent self, in moments.  We want to support these moments for as long as we can.

With someone developing Dementia every 3 minutes, Dementia is set to be the biggest killer, affecting all our futures.  It doesn't discriminate, it devastates lives, and right now there is no cure.

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading Dementia charity, the only UK charity investing into research, cause, care, cure & prevention.

Please support us in order to help, those like our Nan, and others that suffer from this debilitating illness, in the hope that the future is brighter.  Thank you for your support - we appreciate it very much.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
