I recently discovered and became a member of Reach after researching charities that help those with limb differences.   Finally achieving my ambition to qualifying for European Championships and getting my adapted bike made me reflect on my journey there and I wanted to become involved with a charity that supported young people with limb differences. 

When I was growing up there was no support for my parents or myself. I didn't know anyone with a similar disability nor was there any reference, in the popular culture of my childhood, to anyone who had physical differences . Of course i got on with life,  figured out my own way to do things but I do feel that having that support and understanding from an organisation such as Reach would have been really beneficial.  Just to know someone is in a similar situation to you and that they may have been through similar experiences would have made a big difference.  Reach is a fantastic charity which focuses on children.  It provides resources, support and practical information as well as sharing stories that show families and supporters just how incredible these children are.
