Story
Starting on Wednesday 31st May I will be walking from The Royal Harbour, Ramsgate to Dungeness, finishing on Saturday 3rd June. I will be stopping off at Sandwich, Dover and Hythe before ending the walk at Dungeness Lighthouse. Over the duration of the walk I will be dressed in a WW1 Tommy uniform in honour of those who have served our country and those who still are serving.
Even though this event is about raising much needed funds for the RBLI it is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the needs of our veterans and to share the great work the RBLI does for the veteran community. So if you see me on my march down the coast please come and say hello and have a chat, share stories and get to know you and you the RBLI.
Working for the Royal British Legion Industries at the village in Aylesford, Kent I have had the privilege of meeting so many veterans who have served in various theatres around the world over many years.
I also get to work with the most hard working, passionate and caring people a charity could ask for and there it is, the most important word, CHARITY.
The people I have mentioned, the veterans, those who could not be helped and those employed by the RBLI who would not be able to help others without the generous donations of people like yourselves. The money raised gives RBLI the opportunity to carry on providing amazing services such as housing for veterans & their families, care homes, social care and employment opportunities plus many more much needed services.
So please, please donate to my event and help those who have given so much already for us all.
Thank you, Paul Wratten.
