Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to view our page and hear our story.
What began back in January as a New Years’ resolution has somehow escalated into this gruelling challenge. We have sacrificed many weekends in the snow, wind, rain and sleet all in the name of training.
The Welsh 3000’s are the 15 mountains in Wales with a height over 3,000 feet (914.4 m). Geographically they fall within three ranges, but are close enough to make it possible to reach all 15 summits within 24 hours.
The length of this challenge (from the first peak to the last) is about 26 miles (42 km), but including the walk to and from the start and finish point is over 30 miles (48 km). The total ascent is 14,000 ft which is the equivalent of climbing Snowdon nearly 6 times from Pen-Y-Pass car park!!
The reason we have chosen this charity is because it’s very close to our hearts. A couple of us have had family members spend their final days here and couldn’t speak any higher of their efforts and dedication to make those final moments as comfortable as possible. Like all charities, they rely heavily on donations to keep them going so anything will be appreciated.
We thank you once again for your time and we’ll see you on the other side!
