There is a tradition for the President of the Insurance Institute of Cardiff (IIC) to undertake a "challenge" and raise money for their chosen charity.

As the current President, I have chosen 2 Wish Upon a Star as my charity. For my challenge, I will be running a non-stop, 100-mile ultramarathon.

2 Wish Upon a Star aim is to improve bereavement services in Wales, particularly bereavement support for parents after losing their child suddenly and traumatically.

The aims of the charity are to:

• Ensure every A&E Department in Wales has a suitable bereavement suite for bereaved relatives.
• Bereavement boxes are available for parents at each of these hospitals.
• Immediate bereavement support is available for parents and siblings.
• To provide a professional counselling service for bereaved parents.
• To work with staff through training to offer emotional support.
