Fundraising for Sarcoma UK
I started running in June with my fellow Stratton School Mums ("Mums on the Run"), with the aim of being able to keep up with my daughter Isobel in July's 5k Race for Life as I didn’t want to be shown up by a 6 year old! Surprisingly, despite years of being a non-runner who would much rather swim 5k than run it, I've now got the running bug!
To give us something to aim for we decided as a team to enter the Cirencester 10k which takes place this weekend. Sadly at the start of the summer, Sandie, the Mum of one of our group was diagnosed with Sarcoma which is a rare cancer of the bone and soft tissue. We wanted to show our support and raise some money for Sarcoma UK, the main charity in the UK who fund scientific research; deliver support and information; and campaign for improved awareness.
In order to boost my fundraising efforts I have also entered the Cricklade Half Marathon which takes place the weekend after the 10k.
Thank you very much for your support.
