Story

Well the fight night is complete raising £13,500 (amazing) - but feel free to read my story and where your donations support and the allow critical Mental Health courses to be delivered.....

At the age of 49 and after serving 25 years in the military, I looked to join a local gym and keep on top of my physical and mental well-being. The Frank Bruno Foundation was literally on my doorstep and this is more than just a boxing club.

The Frank Bruno Foundation’s primary function provides a safe environment with the aim to improve the mental wellbeing of participants who are facing or recovering from mental ill health.

During the day the club runs several round by round and wellbeing courses and regardless of age, gender or personal issues - all are welcome to attend. With the boxing coaches & NHS mental health team in one hub, each course delivered is there to support, educate and empower every participant.

Throughout my career in Bomb Disposal I deployed to several highly hostile environments and have seen first hand how Mental Health Illness can affect even the strongest minded individual. This is no different to any family environment. With the increased pressure of social media, cost of living, bereavement and marriage break ups - Mental Health simply could affect anyone.

So I asked myself "what could I do more to help the FBF Mental Health & Wellbeing Centre". So on the 26th of Aug I'll be stepping into the ring in a white collar bout to raise funds and support The foundation’s main aim.

Tickets are £25 pp for the event and doors open at The Deco Theatre Northampton (NN14AE) at 1830hrs

I will also be approaching various companies/businesses for sponsorship with the potential of advertising their corporate insignia on my boxing strip on the night (PM direct if you are interested).

If you can't make it - please feel free to make a small donation - we all know a friend, family member or work colleague who has suffered with Mental Health issues (possibly even yourself).

This charity is simply changing lives and is responsible for educating & guiding the future generation.

Thank you and please could you share this page to maximise my social media footprint......
