I am a long term member and trustee for Give A Kidney. We are just about to reach 1000 non directed donors here in the UK so there are many people whose lives have been saved or made better. Apart from the recipients, the vast majority of non directed donors feel that the inconvenience of the process is far outweighed by the sense of having done something unequivocally positive and useful. I know that there is much more we can do to help everyone become aware of the possibility and the path to becoming a living donor.

A group of us are cycling 500 miles over six days in September and visiting seven transplant centres from Edinburgh to Oxford to help publicise transplantation and the charity. I am not the oldest on the tour but it will certainly be a challenge and I am already in training.

Everything that is raised goes directly to Give A Kidney as we are meeting all the tour costs ourselves. As hon treasurer I can assure you that we will spend it wisely. Thanks for looking.
