Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
Paul's Story...
Sometime on the weekend of 17th-19th March my partner - Edwin Paul Van Calster suffered a heart attack. He had complained of discomfort in his chest but we both put it down to heartburn and didn't think for one minute that it was anything serious. Eventually, after an hour long run and cycling to work, Paul finally visited A&E. It was here that he received the shocking news that he'd suffered a heart attack. The news knocked us both for six. After a very long and stressful week a blockage was discovered - a stent was fitted the very same day. Thankfully Paul is now on the road to recovery and should one day be able to get back to his running & orienteering. Without the fantastic NHS nurses and doctors at Bolton Royal Hospital & Salford Royal Hospital, and without the advancements made in Coronary care, it could have been a very different story. This is why my wonderful boyfriend would now like to give a little back and say a HUGE THANK YOU to every single person who helped him on the road to recovery.
Any money you can spare would be very much appreciated, even if it's just a pound or two, every little helps. Thank you for reading Paul's story.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
