Story
Please help me to help Great Ormond Street Hospital. They do such an amazing job.
This year I am running in both the Reading Half Marathon (March) and the London Marathon (April) dressed as a Pink Lady apple. Please consider sponsoring me, no matter what amount, in order to raise money for GOSH.
Before my son Daniel was born he was diagnosed with hydronephrosis (dilated kidney). After his birth he was under the care and attention of GOSH, including having an operation (pyleoplasty) under general anaesthetic in 2007. He is now a fun, healthy and active 6 year old. Running in the Reading Half Marathon and London Marathon gives me the opportunity to once again say thank you to GOSH by raising some money for them.
Why do they need funding?
The charity exists to fund those extra's that make GOSH such a special place. They fund equipment, patient and family welfare and pioneering paediatric research, all of which make a real difference to the children and families in their care. But their biggest challenge is to redevelop 2/3 of the hospital site, whilst keeping the hospital fully operational, and helping to increase their capacity by up to 20% - no mean feat. Combined, this means that they have to raise £50 million every year to make all of this a reality.
I also ask that you pass this web page/link on to any friends or family who may also want to support the excellent work that GOSH does every day.
Thanks! Paul
..and this year I really want to beat 5 hours for the marathon....despite the costume...
