Story

We were excited parents to-be, making plans for our new arrival, when our world fell apart at 20 weeks.  We were given the devastating news that our baby girl had a very rare and complex heart condition.  We spent the next 6 weeks at medical appointments and having repeated scans, all the time desperately hoping for a miracle.

We were referred to Martin House for support following the devastating diagnosis.  Prior to this, whilst we had been aware of Martin House, we had not fully appreciated what an incredible place it is and the invaluable care and support they provide to sick children and their families.

Sadly, Florence's condition was incurable and she was born asleep at 00.27 on 29 January 2021 weighing just 1lb 14oz.  She is absolutely beautiful and we spent 3 incredible days with her having lots of cuddles and making very precious memories.  She has left us heartbroken and with a massive hole in our lives that can never be filled.

The staff we have spoken with at Martin House have been so caring and understanding throughout this incredibly difficult time.  Since Florence passed away, they have been in contact with us to offer help and support through our journey of grief, for which we will be eternally grateful.

We have set up this page for anyone who would like to make a donation to this fantastic organisation in memory of our beautiful daughter Florence.
