Story
Just before Christmas 2020, I sadly lost my dad, John to many, but JD to those closest to him, after he had battled cancer for a long time - several years. He fought as hard and as long as he could do against it, but it was a fight he sadly couldn't win, and when he did pass away, thankfully it was in a peaceful way.
Throughout his illness, over several years, the help and support that both he and my mum had from Macmillan staff was just, well, it was nothing short of awe inspiring. As i'm sure that many of you reading this can empathise with from experience, these are people who help so many others, they truly do go above and beyond for a patient, and don't do it for any thanks or reward, they do it because they care, because they have compassion, and because they simply wish to help and support - as it's in their nature. As simple as that. I could spend the rest of my days trying to thank them with words, and it wouldn't even come close, but what I can do is try and fundraise. I have already raised funds on a Facebook fundraiser through the show, but i feel i want to be able to do more for such a worthwhile cause.
I would be equally as touched and grateful for a simple share of this page as I would a donation, because that's just one of several ways you can support. Cancer is sadly something that touches all of us in our lives, and whatever you can give - a donation, a share, even a message of support - well, it's all something, and I would be most grateful.
Thank you so much all.
