Story
Hey Guys,
So, after eventually getting over the back surgery I had a few years ago, I'm finally running my first marathon, and it just seems right it's in the year of the London Olympics in 2012. It's always been a huge ambition of mine, but I need your help to raise money and support me in my training!
I'm raising funds for the incredibly worthy AbleChild Africa charity, which helps give disabled African children in some of the poorest parts of the continent the chance to reach their full potential, and to overcome the many social and political barriers they face which hold them back. The work by ACA not only challenges and gets change in these outdated laws and practices, but it also encourage the children directly that they can achieve their goals and need not be held back by their disabilities.
Many of these children have been born into a life of incomprehensible hardship or are disabled as a result of civil war, but yet they don't seek to be treated any differently, they just want the chance to have equal opportunities and get on with their lives.
So please, dig as deep as you can, and help me raise my £1500 target. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. It really will make a life-changing difference to those who just need a helping hand, to help themselves.
Thanks guys - Get Involved!
