Story
Myself and Terry H are running the Welsh 3 peaks, raising funds for the Childrens Eye Cancer Trust and the Eye Department at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. My 2 1/2 year old Grandson Harry was diagnosed with a Retinoblastoma in July. He was visiting us in Wales with his Mom (Sarah) for a holiday when we noticed there was a whitish transparency in his one eye when in a certain light. Sarah looked it up on line and took a flash photograph to see if there was a red eye shine. When there was no red eye in Harry's left eye and it showed up white we took him to A&E and a day later saw an eye specialist. From the time of the original diagnosis, to Harry having surgery to remove his eye at Birmingham Childrens Hospital was just two weeks. Fortunately by having the eye removed this has removed all the tumour and whilst Harry will be having regular check ups he is now free of the cancer and does'nt requre any further treatment, and is getting on with life doing the things that any 2 year old does. Whilst this is a terrible thing to have happened, if Sarah had not originally spotted a problem the outcome could have been so much worse. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.,
