Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am putting myself through the Snowdon 24hr to raise awareness and funds which are always needed to support this organisation who helps so many people all over Wales. A lot of these people will never know we exist.
In the event I will be challenged to complete as many ascents & recents of Snowden Mountain vier the Llanberis Path. The route is approx 15 km up and down to and from llanberis. I am aiming to complete each circuit at least 5 times within the 24hrs.
I am one of many volunteers who ride, organise and fundraisers for blood bikes Wales to help support our wonderful NHS offering an out of hours service for free 365 days per year carrying anything they need.
Thank you for your support
Along with the obvious cost saving to the NHS, the positive impact of our service on individuals cannot be underestimated. A motorcycle can move vital blood supplies, blood products, pathology laboratory samples, essential surgical instruments and frozen breast milk for premature baby units etc. far quicker than, for example, standard couriers.
Using our two liveried motorbikes, ridden by advanced qualified motorcycle riders, our catchment area covers the North West Wales (Betsi Cadwaladr University Area Health Authority) area stretching from Dolgellau to Bodelwyddan which includes Ysbyty Glan Clwyd (Bodelwyddan), Ysbyty Gwynedd (Bangor), Ysbyty Penhros Stanley (Holyhead) and all associated area hospitals. We are occasionally required to deliver outside the area by using an organised relay system with other National Blood Bike Groups throughout UK.
The individuals and the families of those who will benefit from our service will probably never know what we may have done for them. However we don’t do it for glory, recognition or reward, we do it because there is a need. The knowledge that the group will have done whatever it can is reward enough for us.
Your kind assistance in promoting our service is an invaluable contribution, and is greatly appreciated by all of our members. We thank you very much indeed for your support.
