Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the Berlin Marathon on 29th September 2013 in memory of my brother Pete (Skin). Skin died of prostrate cancer on 7th July 2012. Admitted to St. Elizabeth Hospice, the end was heartbreakingly swift which left us all in shock; he had battled on for nearly 2 years.
Pete was the quiet type and rarely complained about anything and just got on with life. Skin was Skin!
I chose the Berlin Marathon as Berlin holds fond memories of us growing up there during my father's service career. We were there when the hideous Berlin Wall was erected.
But more importantly, I hope to help raise the awareness off prostrate cancer (and by the way most males in our family have been PSA tested).
