BPT Lyke Wake Walk · 15 June 2012

We are the UK wide charity working to support seriously ill children

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Working at Birchwood Price Tools I am proud of our “Work Hard, Play Hard” business ethic.

During 2012 we’re looking to turn the play element into raising money for charity.... We are all too aware of how challenging the economic climate is and of course of the charity beginning at home element which is why we are not asking for ground breaking amounts...

Each participant will be challenged to raise around £1000 each from collegues, contacts, family and friends.

Our team of walkers, including Managing Director Paul Nieduszynski and Sales Director Paul Simpson, are to complete the Lyke Wake Walk. Which is a complete crossing of the North Yorkshire Moors along their main east-west watershed between the Stone at grid reference 470994 and the Trig point at 971012, a distance of approximately 40 miles within 24 hours! At the moment we have some 30 participants from BPT that are looking to complete the walk which should lead to a fantastic turn out and fundraising event.

The walk starts at midnight one night and MUST be finished no later than 24 hours later. The map below sketches out the line of the Walk:

We are going to complete the walk on one of the longest days of the year which will be the 16 of June.

The plan is for all walkers and supporters to travel to the start point by minibus on Friday evening, start the walk Friday around midnight finishing by midnight on the Saturday.

By giving to this annual event you'll be supporting 2 incredibly deserving UK charities - The Children’s Hospice UK & Breast Cancer UK.

As I have mentioned all our walkers will be tasked with raising a minimum of £1,000... Supplier donations will initially be used to fund the actual cost of the walk in terms of equipment and supplies required.

This is a fantastic challenge for two incredibly deserving charities and we genuinely appreciate your support.

Any donation you make, no matter how small, will help ensure that Children's Hospices and Breast Cancer UK continue to support thousands of families.

Should you choose to support us, we will send you regular updates to let you know how we’re progressing.
