Hi,

 

This year I will be taking part in my first Great North Run with my husband Paul, who will be running for the 6th time.  We have decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK as it is a charity close to both our hearts.  I lost my dad to lung cancer 8 years ago when he was just 51 years old.  More recently Paul lost his Aunty Elaine after she suffered from an aggressive form of the disease.  We both know first hand the effects cancer has on people and their families so we would like to give something back to this amazing charity for the work they do in trying to beat this disease.

The training will be hard, especially as I will be trying to keep control of my diabetes but I am determined with Paul’s support to complete the race in a good time and without stopping!
