Story
Who was Alice?
As the pandemic hit in 2020, Alice Hickson, an amazing women, loved by her family and the community was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
In November 2021 Alice lost her battle with Alzheimer's.
Alice was my wife's (Heather's) Nan and best friend, Alice was a massive part of our lives from visiting her house several times a week, to the daily phone calls between her and Heather. When visiting her, Alice would always make sure that you were well fed whether it was her famous house made of toast, poached eggs or a constant supply of biscuits, she always took the time to care for you. This love continued to shine when she became a great grandmother and spoilt all her great grandchildren just as she had to those before. I could go on...
This horrible disease took Alice's life far too quickly, it robbed her of hope and optimism but if I can be grateful for one thing it's that she recognised her loved ones till the end (unlike others), yes there was confusion, but knowing she knew that her loved ones were there would of brought her comfort.
I would like to raise money to help Alzheimer's Research UK and I don't mind working hard for it running the London Marathon in 2022.
Please see my updates on how funding will help raise important funds in memory of Alice.
