Many of you are aware that my Dad died of Motor Neurone Disease a year-or-so ago.

Motor Neurone Disease robs the individual of the ability to command their body to obey their instructions. It doesn’t affect any mental faculties. The body that used to enable you to live your life incarcerates you until the prison dies taking your mind with it.

No known cure. No known causes. It can affect each and any of us and it doesn’t necessarily wait until you’ve had the best times of your life.

On July 31st I’m running 50-miles in an Ultra Marathon in the Lakes. On September 18th I’m running in the Great North Run. Ironic that I’m taking part in events that are about the mind forcing that body over the line.

Strictly this sponsorship is for the Great North Run and your sponsorship monies are to allow the MND Association to better care for those suffering from MND and to maybe find the cause and a cure.
