Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 30 June 2013 my family were hit with the tragic death of my mother Jean Robertson. Although she had been diagnosed with COPD a year before, none of us realised just how serious the condition was.
Having been brought up in the small town of Alva at the foot of the Ochils, my mum married my dad in 1956 and moved to Alloa where my brother, sister were born and then 9 years later I bounced into the world. My mum was focused on one thing only and that was her family devoted to my dad and the 3 of us.
Many years later with my brother and sister having flown the nest the apple of her eye was her grandchildren Michelle then Kevin and the baby of the 3 Leanne. Her devotion to them was second only to her devotion to her own children and she was as proud as punch in recent years when she was presented with Great grandchildren in the shape of Josh, Hannah, Jaiden and Ross.
Away from family life my mum was a stalwart of the Claremont Boys Club and Alloa Saints FC set ups. Working tirlessly during the last 20 years helping organise events, running food stalls and on one occassion feeding over 100 boys daily for a week as they attended the UG football school.
On Sunday June 8 myself Michelle and Leanne will be abseiling teh Forth Rail Bridge and and raising awareness of CHSS. If by raising funds which will in turn help fund research into COPD then it will a massive boost to all concerned. Please help us by sponsoring me and producing a fitting tribute to a great woman and more importantly someone we called MUM, GRAN, GRANNY and JEAN!!!
