Story
It is now a year since Elspeth, mother of our children Andrew (14) and Eilidh (10), was diagnosed with primary lung cancer with secondaries to her spine and leg. She had never smoked in her entire life. The cancer was found to be a very aggressive one which she fought with determination and dignity.
She lost her battle on 28th of February 2015, just over 2 months after her initial diagnosis. She was supported in this battle by the Beatson Cancer Charity who rely a great deal on public support and donations to both help and treat people with cancer as well as striving to find a cure to this insidious disease which will, to some extent, touch us all in our lives.
The battle continues - since Elspeth was taken yet more people are diagnosed with cancers of all types and we must fight for them, in memory of those who have lost their fight and those left behind.
My aim is a simple one - to raise £3000 for the cause.
Elspeth was a truly lovely, kind and generous person who touched so many lives in a positive way. She worked tirelessly in the background of her favourite football club, Albion Rovers of Coatbridge who have themselves adopted the Beatson Cancer Charity as one of their charities and, in recognition of his, have included the charity's logo on their new strip. Anything that you could afford to give would go a long way to helping rid the world of this terrible illness.
