Story
After a challenging few years, navigating our way through the system, our Daughter Hollie (7) was diagnosed with Autism April this year. Even with Hollie’s challenges she’s definitely one of life’s little characters and certainly makes a lasting impression on most.
I want to run the GNR, for the first time ever, giving myself only 3 months to train 😱, to give little support to a charity that gives so much to families around the North East.
For those that know Hollie, she’s not aware of her condition therefore please be considerate whilst she’s around.
I decided to do the Great North Run as part of Team NEAS! North East Autism Society, the largest specialist provider of support for people with Autism in the North East. The Society have developed a diverse range of services over the last 38 years to meet the varying needs of individuals with Autism, learning difficulties and disabilities. These include; education, day services, supported employment, residential care, supported living, respite short- break services and family support. As an organisation, we realise the importance of learning what Autism means for each person and provide a personalised approach to their support and education.
