Story
So to mark my 40th year on this lovely planet I’ve decided to complete the Wainwright Coast to Coast path in the space of 5 days. It’s an average of 37 miles (59.2km) per day across the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. I’m definitely going to try and enjoy the challenge but your donations for this will go to Friends of the Earth and spur me along. There are so many great causes out there I just feel that all of us as a collective are suffering because of the knock on effect of the unharmonious relationship we have with our life support systems, the planet. The rivers, seas, forests are all in a very dangerous and in some instances dire place as a direct result of human greed and selfishness and disconnect from our place as separate from nature rather than being part of it.
Friends of the Earth fights for a more healthy and just world.
Together we speak truth to power and expose those who endanger the health of people and the planet for corporate profit. We organize to build long-term political power and campaign to change the rules of our economic and political systems that create injustice and destroy nature.
Makes sense to me.
Also very much open to other forms of help for this challenge and feel free to join me for a leg or buy me a beer/meal along the way. I set off on August 30th 2021.
