Story
Paul, a resident at Ipswich-based Sue Ryder Neurological Care Centre The Chantry, has completed an incredible 100 laps of the building in 67 days. He came to the centre to receive specialist care following surgery to remove a brain tumour that left him unable to walk properly. This makes his achievement a particularly special one.
The lifelong Ipswich Town FC supporter did lap number 100, the very final lap, around the outside of his beloved Portman Road Stadium, the home of his favourite team.
Paul chose the impressive target of 100 laps in 67 days laps to match his age (67) and this challenge marks the third time that he has laced up his trainers to raise funds for local charities including Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity. The funds will specifically go to the Woolvestone Ward.
Having put his best foot forward and completed the impressive challenge Paul now hopes his achievement will inspire people to donate to his chosen charities.
Speaking about his challenge Paul said:
“Raising as much money as possible would mean the world to me.”
