Story
Hello I'm Paul
Thanks for stopping to take a look at my page Im a 33 year old chef who has been living with the with the after effects of two life threating Dvts (deep vein thrombosis).
It all started when I was 18 years old when I had my first blood clot, my leg became extremely swollen, I was short of breath and in a lot of pain, I got myself to A&E where I was treated for a DVT and put on wafarin I spent a few days in hospital and then was allowed home to rest, with daily bloods tests. after 4 months of being treated on blood thinners the doctors decided it was safe for me to be taken off warfarin. I was ok for 5 weeks and then I had a second DVT which was a lot worse and nearly killed me. After a week stay in the hospital and plenty of pain relief I was released on life long warfarin and daily blood test for a while
After nearly 14 years of being on warfarin probably thousands of blood tests, lots of after care and help to come to terms with all of the life changes I am now on rivaroxaban which is slightly more stable and is a new type of blood thinners.
I now also live with pts (post thrombotic syndrome ) which does effect half of all patients who have experience a DVT it's also causes chronic pain and swelling which then cause frustration and anxiety.
So I have decide to push my self to the limit to raise awareness and a few quid at the same time,I would really appreciate it :) Any amount Is better than nothing even £1 help push me even more 🏊.
Thank you X
