Thank you for your interest in my Just Giving Page. I would really appreciate your support for this most worthwhile of charities for which I am embarking on this challenging expedition. Cycling 490km (300 miles) in Zambia over 5 days leaving the UK on the 21st September for a total trip length of 10 days is certainly a challenge!

Transaid focus on professional driver training, transport management systems and rural access to transport in developing countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Their work includes providing an Emergency Transport Scheme to transport pregnant mothers with complications and to also help community health workers reach the families who need them.

Working with the transport sector meant I have been aware for some time of the Transaid Cycle Africa challenges. It has been my ambition to take part one year and while it was Cycle Uganda that initially attracted my attention its taken 5 years to ultimately commit to Cycle Zambia in 2018.

Please be aware that all monies raised on this page will be for Transaid. This is to say that all the costs for the trip itself (flights, food & accommodation etc) I am financing myself.
