We provide specialist palliative care to patients suffering from terminal illness

Story

Watching my mother die was one of the hardest experiences of my life. As it approaches the one year anniversary of her death I would like to raise some funds in her memory.

The chosen charity is the Southern Area Hospice where she spent the last weeks of her life. I was amazed about how they ensured the dignity of the individuals while accommodating the relatives’ wishes. Surviving solely on donations, the quality of service was amazing.

I hope that you or I will never need their service but just in case…

Please sponsor me as I go through hell running the Edinburgh Marathon in May - hopefully in under 4 hours. Training has already started with 6 months of no drinking or smoking. It’s tough at the moment, with training some days in -18 degrees through 30cm of snow.

So come on dig-deep and sponsor me, and make the run worthwhile!!!
