Story
After training for 2 years to run the London Marathon in 2021 and enjoying the first 11 miles more than any run I'd done before, I injured my knee and had to shuffle the last 16 miles in a lot of pain. Although I raised over £12,000 for the charity, I was very disappointed not to be able to enjoy the rest of the day and complete the race how I'd have liked.
I then entered again for 2022, however, injury struck again, meaning I've had to move my place back to April 2023. Some people have said I'm mad but I'm going to give it another go and I hope to be able to raise even more funds to help the lives of children who really deserve it.
As someone who has experienced first hand the amazing work the charity carry out, I can say from personal experience how special it is for the wish child but also for the family to spend quality time making magical memories. Make-A-Wish UK grant wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold.
Thank you so much for your support.
