Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After two years of competing in triathlons, I decided to have a go at a long-distance triathlon. So last July I took the plunge and entered Ironman Austria (clicking the 'enter now' button seemed way too easy at the time).

Ironman Austria will take place in Klagenfurt, Austria, at 7.00am on 3rd July 2011.

An Ironman triathlon consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike and a full marathon 26.2 miles run, raced in that order and without a break. There is a strict time limit of 17 hours to complete the race.

After spending the last 6 months training for this event I thought it only right to use this opportunity to raise money and awareness for an extremely worthwhile charity, Sue Ryder, who provide compassionate care services to people with long-term and end of life needs in hospices, residential care centres and people’s homes. They also support families, friends and carers.

Many thanks for all your support,

Paul.

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.
