This year I am attempting to run the great north run in aid of The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

Lung cancer is the UK’s biggest cancer killer, with more than 35,000 people dying every year.
 
It is known as the Cinderella Cancer as despite the fact it kills around 95 people every day, less than 4% of all funding is invested in research into lung cancer.
 
These latest statistics show the result of this consistent lack of funding, that you are just as likely to die from the disease today as you were if you were diagnosed forty years ago.
 
After losing my Father-in-law to this disease I decided that I would try and raise a few pounds to help out and as you can see from the statistics above - Every penny will help.  I realise that this is not the only worthwhile charity out there and there will be some closer to peoples hearts than others but I would be most greatful if you would sponsor me (any amount will do).
