Story

See the world they said......

Have you met me? Then you'll know, I wasn't built for speed, so a gentle 106km walk around an island off the southern edge of the UK is just the thing I should be doing? Crazy right?

What's more crazy is that good people - good friends get caught up in the utter bastard that is Alzheimer's - it doesn't respect status, wealth, intelligence or education. It crashes into lives and it kills you slowly from the inside of your skull.

My friends, my family have died because of this bastard. Taken too soon when they had more to give and more to share. I've seen first hand the slow decline of once great people to the slow creeping death that is Alzheimer's and I want it to stop. That's why I'm doing this challenge - it will hurt. It will take a long time. There will be dark moments, there will be light. But unlike the darkest days of an Alzheimer's sufferer, those things will pass for me.

I will endure. I will Strive. I will speak his name.

Your support means the world to me - every penny and pound will go towards making Alzheimer's a disease we once had to suffer. Now, onwards.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
