Story
Vietnam to Cambodia on a bike!
Thanks for visiting our page. For those of you who don’t know our story.........
It’s just over 3 years since Deb left us and at some point in each day since my mind has gone back to our last few days together.
It was, as you can imagine, the most difficult of times.
One moment we were together at her bedside in a Liverpool hospital being told that we were at the end of the line and there was nothing more that could be done, then in what seemed like a blur, she was gone.
It was in fact just 6 days and during that time we were so fortunate to have been able to bring Deb back closer home to our local Hospice, Nightingale House, where her family & friends were able to spend some priceless time with her in a calm, private place.
The expert, personal and compassionate care provided by the staff of Nightingale House in those final days allowed us to concentrate on the two most important things, keeping Deb comfortable and being together as a family. For that, we will always be grateful.
So, on this third anniversary, I’m pleased to announce that as this years main fundraising event, I’ll be joining the Nightingale House team and Cycling some 383kms from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia this November to raise money for the Hospice.
As a non cyclist, the prospect of riding around 60 miles per day in 30 degree heat is not something I should be looking forward to. However, the thought of such a challenge, pulling together with new friends, all for a fantastic cause, well, that’s quite a different matter. I can’t wait to get started.
The cost of this trip is being sponsored by Sure Signs, so all donations will be passed on in full to the Hospice in Debs name, in thanks for both the care they provided us at that time and for the future care provided for the people of our area.
Any donation will be gratefully received and together we can make a difference.
thanks in advance for your support.👍
