Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have decided to run The 2018 London Marathon to raise money for The National Deaf Children's Society. This is a cause very close to my heart as my son Lennon was born deaf. As soon as he was born we knew there was something wrong. Apart from the physical difference with one of his ears he was very unresponsive to sounds and within a few days the doctors at the hospital had referred him for tests and within a few weeks we got the news we were dreading, that Lennon was deaf. We weren't sure how deaf he was and how it would affect him with his learning and his development. Over the next couple of years Lennon was in and out of various departments of Alder Hey hospital (Audiology, ENT, Cranial/Facial) and he has had his up's and downs a long way, he has had some really tough times and as he has to have several major operations in the future he has many more difficult times to come. But I know he will get through it like he always does, with the biggest most beautiful smile on his face. I have seen first hand how difficult it can be for deaf children to learn and develop physically, mentally and emotionally and so to be able to do something for such an amazing charity is an honour. Hopefully I can also make Lennon proud of me. I aim to raise £1800 and so any donation that you can make would be very gratefully received. From me and Lennon thank you so much x
I am looking forward to getting to the finish line and seeing his big beautiful smiling face waiting for me.
