Myeloma UK London Paris Ride 2022 · 15 September 2022 to 19 September 2022 ·

Myeloma patients, family, friends, healthcare professionals and supporters cycle 500km from London to Paris over four days to raise crucial funds for myeloma research.

Story

Back on the bike to Paris again! After two missed years Myeloma UK is running this great fundraiser again and it is a privilege to take part.

Having asked many people to contribute in 2018 and 2019, I'm going to ride with our daughter Alice in September and have taken on an extra challenge by riding a 24 hour route to Paris in April. Two rides for one contribution makes this the buy one get one free fundraiser.

It is also a first for Alice having only tried a road bike for the first time 18 months ago and fitting in her training around a full time job in sustainability.

The September event is an incredible experience for raising money but it also brings together Myeloma patients, carers, medics, Pharma companies and others who have stories to share and do share them for four days.

Kim was diagnosed with Myeloma in 2017 and we found Myeloma UK  online, realising that we needed support for a blood cancer that we'd never heard of. Myeloma UK provides that support and funds research into Myeloma including the all-important early diagnosis work that has just been launched. Like all charities it has been difficult to fundraise during the pandemic but just as many people have suffered this cancer and needed support.

Please do contribute. Alice and I are hoping to raise £3,000 this year and contribute to a total of £250k for the charity on this ride.

If we can do it this will take our fundraising for Myeloma UK to over £10,000, with the gift, aid over the three rides..
