Story
In March of this year it was just a normal night round my folks house, was having the usual banter with my kid brother as he cooked everyone a roast dinner. He sat down, took one bite of food and everything changed. He stood up clutching his chest, paramedics were called,we had no idea what was wrong. Within 24 hours he was fighting for his life and undergoing emergency surgery. He continued to fight for his life in intensive care for nearly two weeks. He'd suffered a tear in his esophagus, he was given a 30% chance of survival.
But Nick being Nick he battled back and after nearly two months in hospital he was discharged. A few months later he's made a full recovery. If it hadn't been for the amazing staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, from CDU,Intensive Care and finally the ward he was on he wouldn't be here. So in two weeks and on his behalf I'll be running my final event for a while when I take on the Brum half marathon to say a massive thank you to the surgeon's,nurses...everyone involved in his recovery.
Thank you for bringing him back to us,we are eternally grateful.
Please give anything you can.
Thank you
Paul
